Homework #5: Presenting information using Microsoft PowerPoint.
50 points, due 12/5/2001 by classtime.
(adapted from iupui.edu)

You are going to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create a presentation about a subject of your choice. You are developing this presentation to use in a brief lecture that you will be giving to other students at St. Louis University. (Which, rest assured, you won't actually have to do.) The presentation should be designed so that if a student does not see your lecture, they will still be able to follow what your argument was.

MS PowerPoint is installed on the computers in the Davis-Shaughnessy lab, Des Peres Hall, and McDonnell-Douglas Hall.

The presentation must have the following:

  1. At least four slides, one of which should be a title slide,
  2. At least four different images (clip art or other images),
  3. A subject of your choice,
  4. At least three things of interest or arguments of note about that subject,
  5. On the title slide, your name and the date that the assignment is due.

The presentation should be attractive and follow the style guidelines that we discussed in the lecture about PowerPoint. The presentation should be cohesive and present some viewpoint that you wish to persuade your audience to.

Save the presentation on a diskette as (yourname).ppt where (yourname) is your first and last names together.

Turn in the diskette with the presentation on it. Label the diskette with your name.
