Homework assignments are due at the beginning of the class period. Homework assignments are expected to be legible, grammatically correct, and labeled with your name and the date. Those not meeting these expectations will be reduced in value.

Late homework assignments are reduced in value by ten points per day, including the day that they are due. For example, an assignment is due on September 12 at the beginning of class. A student turns it in at the end of the class period. The maximum point value that can be earned for the assignment is therefore 40 out of 50 points.

The student is expected to be in the classroom, seated and ready at the beginning of the class, for each scheduled class period. Excessive absences may result in a lowered grade.

If a student will not be able to turn in homework before the due date or attend a class session when homework is due or a test is given, it is the student's obligation to contact the instructor before that time to discuss the possibility of alternate plans. The instructor is under no obligation to accommodate such requests, but may choose to do so.

Testing will emphasize understanding of the material, and have content from the textbook and lectures. Points available from any quiz or exam not attended will likely be forfeited.
